Lucasfilm v. Gen Con Lawsuit Dismissed

The Lucasfilm lawsuit against the Gen Con gaming convention is no more! A dismissal notice, filed today with the US District Court and signed by the presiding judge, dismissed the lawsuit. The short version is that Lucasfilm expects to resolve their disputes during the bankruptcy proceedings. I previously reported on the Chapter 11 reorganization plan for Gen Con and how the filing had a hopeful tone regarding payment of outstanding debts.  Apparently, Lucasfilm agrees.

The document is very brief,  but you are welcome to check it out for yourself at the link below.

Lucasfilm v. Gen Con Dismissal Notice

I am very pleased that this resolved. Once the bankruptcy also clears,  Gen Con can get on with the business of executing a great convention without pending lawsuits.

Wow. Gen Con, bankrupt! What a bizarre and sad end. If only Wizards would suffer the same fate. Sad!

JRR, I think you don’t fully understand whats happening with the “bankruptcy”…

In the end, GenCon looks like they might actually come out of this ordeal and still function.
