Gen Con Update: Make-A-Wish Foundation Debt May Resolve This Week

Gen Con’s outstanding debt to the “Make-A-Wish” foundation of approximately $150,000.00 was, in my opinion, the most disturbing part of the bankruptcy filing. However, recent court documents indicate a resolution to this unfortunate problem may be in sight.

The court, acting sua sponte, ordered “…immediate disbursement to Make-a-Wish Foundation of $148,562.13,….” The order is not final yet, but the document states that both Gen Con LLC and the Creditors Committee support the court’s motion.

The order should finalize on 11-26-08, assuming there are no objections.

I also contacted Adrian Swartout, Chief Operating Officer of Gen Con LLC for comment and she indicated that Gen Con will issue a press release once the order is entered. They believe this will be Wednesday.

I will post the press release once it is available.

Here are the original documents:

I call this very good news, both for the charity and Gen Con.
