A Festival of Software Reviews in the Next Week! (Or So)

Origins provided a plethora of new and interesting games, as usual. This year was slightly different as I also got my hands on a variety of gaming software that I shall review. In the next week (or so, no promises) I will post reviews/previews on the following:

1. d20pro , a virtual tabletop for online RPG gaming. Haaldaar and I played with it at Origins and found it cool, but I will give it a more thorough evaluation for my readership’s benefit.

2.  Beyond Protocol kindly let me into their beta test, so I will provide you an early look at the game.  MMORPGs do not really light my fire.  However, the concept of a MMORTS (real-time strategy)interests me. This is less of a review than a preview, since beta software is often not a reflection of the final game. I am just impatient and wanted a peak. 😉

3. Hero Lab from “Lone Wolf Development. ” LWD kindly sent a copy of this RPG character and NPC generation software for review.  I hate doing paperwork for my PCs, so this may be a solution I can live with.

Sadly, all of this software reviewing means I will take a posting hiatus over the long weekend (4th of July for those non-American readers.) Software simply takes longer to evaluate than  game books.  You have to play with it and tinker to really get a feel for the tool or game.

See you Sunday night!
